Ballpark

Estimate something. https://getsling.com/blog/business-terms/

Refers to a rough estimate or approximation of a value or quantity. It is used to provide a general sense of what something might cost, how long it might take, or how much revenue it could generate. A ballpark figure is often based on previous experience or industry standards and is useful for making quick decisions or setting initial expectations before more detailed analysis is conducted.

During a business coaching session, a coach might ask their client about their revenue goals for the year. The client might not have a precise answer, so the coach could ask for a ballpark figure to start the conversation. The client might say, “I’m not sure, but I think we want to increase revenue by around 20-25%.” This provides the coach with a general idea of the client’s goals and can help guide the coaching session.
