Shortlist

Shortlist

Refers to a narrowed-down list of candidates or options that have been selected for further consideration in a hiring process, procurement process, or other business decisions. It is a selection of the most promising candidates or options that have been screened and evaluated against a set of criteria. The shortlist is typically created based on the initial evaluation of a larger pool of candidates or options and serves as a basis for making a final decision. The purpose of a shortlist is to streamline the selection process, save time, and improve the quality of the final selection.

After conducting a thorough assessment of the candidate’s skills and experience, the business coach created a shortlist of three potential candidates for the management position. The shortlist included individuals who demonstrated strong leadership abilities and a track record of success in similar roles. The coach then provided guidance to the hiring team on how to effectively evaluate and select the most suitable candidate from the shortlist.
