Host-Beneficiary Relationship

A marketing strategy that involves one company partnering with another company that has a large and established customer base, in order to promote their products or services to this customer base. The host company, or beneficiary, benefits by offering their customers exclusive discounts or special offers, while the partnering company benefits from the exposure to a wider audience and potential new customers. This strategy is also known as a co-branding strategy, and can be mutually beneficial for both companies involved.

A business coach might recommend that their client establish a host-beneficiary relationship with a complementary business. For example, a wedding planner might form a host-beneficiary relationship with a florist or venue to cross-promote each other’s services. The host business would provide access to their customer base and resources, while the beneficiary business would offer value-added services or discounts to the host’s customers. By leveraging this relationship, both businesses can increase their exposure and attract new customers, while providing added value to their existing ones.
